Welcome to Fewer Gates
In higher education, gatekeeping limits access to the opportunities, resources, and information students need to succeed. While some gatekeeping serves important purposes—particularly in maintaining data quality and analytical standards—it's too frequently used to perpetuate inequalities and create unnecessary barriers.
Students face countless 'gates' on their educational journey: from college access and enrollment through degree completion and career preparation. Each barrier can derail promising futures and limit potential.
Fewer Gates, founded by Dr. Mary Fugate (pronounced ‘few-gate’), exists to reduce the barriers and gates in place that limit college access and success.

MISSION
Fewer Gates democratizes access to critical research and data insights. When key information reaches the right people, barriers fall and student success insights can be used by educators, decision-makers, and advocates working to create real change.
